Gold Canyon pest control for homes built into desert.

Most of Gold Canyon went up after 2000, on ground nothing had been built on before. The desert didn't move out when the houses went in.

Good to know

Questions? We've got answers.

Straight answers to what Valley homeowners ask us most. Still not sure about something? We're happy to talk it through.

Do newer Gold Canyon homes still get scorpions?

Often more than older ones elsewhere. A new house on a desert lot is placed into habitat that already held scorpions, and construction gives them fresh cover: block walls, rock features, and landscape boulders all offer the tight dark gaps they shelter in. Age of the building matters far less than what surrounds it, which in Gold Canyon is usually open desert.

Does desert landscaping make pest problems worse?

It changes them rather than worsening them. Native landscaping keeps rock, gravel, and low cover close to the house, and that's exactly the harborage scorpions, spiders, and crickets use, so the exterior work concentrates there. Turf and dense irrigated planting trade that for more ant and cricket pressure instead. Neither is a mistake, and both want a maintained barrier.

Do you actually come out to Gold Canyon?

Yes. Gold Canyon is on an every-other-month route at the same $49 a month as the rest of the valley, with no contract. It's one of the further stops we make, out past Apache Junction on U.S. 60, and it's served on the same schedule as everywhere else rather than by appointment when somebody happens to be nearby.
